Our Sunday morning education time begins at 10:45 each week.
The continuing education of our children and adults is a
cornerstone of our faith. Children are encouraged to participate
in our worship service. A part of the service is a special
sermon for them that reflects the worship theme. After the
Children’s Sermon, kids have the option of staying
with their parents or going to the nursery.
After our worship, we have fellowship time and then our Sunday
morning education hour begins. Early childhood classes combine
several ages into a worship center, where each child can use
a variety of physical activities to understand and recreate
bible stories and learn about the parts of worship.
Older children meet with their peers and share opportunities
to learn about our faith and develop the own spiritual muscles.
We offer a variety of adult classes, which focus on subjects
ranging from book reviews to Bible study to discussions on
contemporary issues. Subjects and classes change every few
weeks to provide the option of moving to a class that fits
your journey of faith. Recent programs include:
- New ventures in worship – How art and creativity
can engage worshippers
- Evolution and Creationism – Can they co-exist?
- Digging deeper into today’s sermon
Two women’s Bible study groups, called Circles meet
monthly, one in the morning and one in the evening. The Morning
Circle meets at 10 a.m. on the second Wednesday of the month.
The Rose Circle meets at 7:00 p.m. on the first Wednesday of
the month.
Each year, we have a Vacation Bible School with our UCC Church
neighbor across the street. VBS offers the children from our
churches and neighborhood for fun, fellowship and learning.
Each December, we present a live Nativity on West Road for
our neighbors and friends to enjoy. Adults and children participate
together in this special and spiritual event.
