Our mission grows from the St.
Andrew’s Vision
statement:
St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church
An open, caring family of faith
Receiving God's message
Nurturing each other
Going out into the
world
In all
that we do
Let everyone
experience Christ's love. |
In addition to opening our door to many community help organizations,
we focus on the following local missions:
Bethany Presbyterian Church: an inner city church whose congregation
supports the needs of less fortunate people in the near west
Cleveland neighborhoods. We support their meal program monthly
by providing desserts, helping serve food and cleaning up afterwards.
Over 100 people are served at each meal.
Garden Valley: a near east Cleveland neighborhood center at
Kinsman and East 71st street. A mission of the Presbytery of
the Western Reserve, they offer a variety of programs that
meet the food, education and recreational needs of inner city
youth and families. We provide food and clothing donations
monthly and help with volunteers for their annual Christmas
fair.
Berea Welfare: maintains a food closet that support families
in need in the Berea community. We supply food and financial
donations throughout the year.
Heifer Project: an international aid organization that provides
income-producing animals to needy areas around the world. In
addition, they provide education and training in how to raise,
feed and breed their animals to support their community and
other communities.
Other mission projects are undertaken on an as needed basis. In 2007 the congregation worked with local businesses to paint the home of a local senior citizen for the second time.
Where there is a need we strive to help. |
